NDIS Disability Supports Churchill
Churchill is unique as a planned town, purpose‑built in 1965 to house workers for the Hazelwood Power Station. Originally called Hazelwood, it was controversially renamed Churchill in honour of British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, who had died earlier that year. Fun fact: Churchill is home to Federation University’s Gippsland campus, making it one of the few small towns in Victoria with a university presence, which has shaped its identity as both an energy hub and an education centre.
